Estepona has a magnificent landscape which boasts both the mountains of the Sierra Bermeja mountain range and 21 kilometres of coastline. This, along with the wide variety of activities available in the area, makes Estepona a very popular tourist destination on the Costa del Sol.
The town has a varied and celebrated gastronomy; it actually has over 100 restaurants. This means that anyone staying in the area will experience a one-of-a-kind culinary experience which spans from the traditional cuisine of the area to international food that is innovative and delicious. Among the classic dishes of the area fried fish, especially sardines and calamari, are Estepona’s speciality.
Estepona offers some of the most interesting activities in the entire Costa del Sol. One can visit Selwo Nature Park, a park where exotic animals roam free. There are safari trips on 4x4 trucks and even camel rides for the more adventurous people. Another attraction for animal lovers in the Costa del Sol School of Equestrian Art where there are dressage shows and competitions throughout the year. As most towns and cities on the Costa del Sol, Estepona homes a yachting harbour.
If staying in Estepona, it is recommended to visit its neighbouring towns: Marbella and Manilva. The best way to reach these is by car.
