Nerja

Nerja is located on the eastern limit of the Malaga province, located 50km from Malaga city. It has a mild climate which makes it an ideal holiday destination all year round. It offers both a small fishing village feel with the facilities of a large town.

It has 16 kilometres of pristine beaches which offer all major water sports like water skiing, sailing and scuba diving. The Sierra Almijara mountain range overlooks the entire village and the village still contains a virtually untouched old quarter filled with cobbled, narrow, winding streets and whitewashed homes.

Nerja’s monuments include the Gardens of Capistrano Playa which leads onto Burriana Beach and the Church of El Salvador which was built in the 17th Century built in the Baroque and Moorish architectural style. It is also home to spectacular caves which are located just 3 kilometres from Nerja’s centre. They contain paintings which are over 20,000 years old, pre-historic remains and a recently built concert hall. In this concert hall, each year, Nerja celebrates the International Cave Festival which attracts many top entertainers.

Nerja is located just 50km from Malaga and it is worth it to visit the Capital of the Province and is also well connected to the rest of the Costa del Sol by a motorway.
